How the LPG price is set

Every month OGRA works out the LPG price from the Saudi Aramco contract price (the international benchmark for LPG), the rupee-dollar rate, petroleum levy, the margins of producers, marketing companies and distributors, and 18% GST. The price takes effect on the 1st of the month and is the most anyone may charge.

Check before you refill

A full domestic cylinder holds 11.8 kg of gas. Ask the shop to weigh the cylinder: an empty cylinder's weight (tare) is stamped on it, so full weight minus tare should be about 11.8 kg. See also the petrol price and SNGPL / SSGC gas bills.
